'The Proud Roma Movements' is proud to present the next in a series of portraits introducing the people behind the Roma movements of Europe today.
Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture - ERIAC has taken immediate action to document the experiences of Roma refugees fleeing Ukraine and the Romani response to the humanitarian crisis.
On the occasion of the upcoming International Roma Day, ERIAC is taking part in a series of events in multiple European cities, focusing on selected themes of Roma arts and culture. Here is an overview of ERIAC’s planned activities and collaborations for April 8, 2022.
The short film explores the impact of Covid-19 within the Roma communities in Serbia and the UK, and how in particular Romani women have been affected.

Tras el exitoso estreno internacional en enero de 2022, las versiones española y catalana de la película se estrenan en línea el 1 de marzo, Día de la Cero Discriminación, con el claro propósito de amplificar los mensajes de amor y solidaridad de la película, y "promover la inclusión, la compasión, la paz y, sobre todo, un movimiento para el cambio".
Following the successful international premiere in January 2022, the film’s Spanish and Catalan versions are being released online on 1 March, Zero Discrimination Day with the clear purpose of amplifying the film’s messages of love and solidarity, and “promoting inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change”.
Developed by Romane Romnja in collaboration with ERIAC, the video series aims to highlight Roma women contributions to the field of arts and culture through the personal accounts of six Sinti and Roma women artists.
The RCC Roma Integration Action Team in collaboration with ERIAC, is looking for a service provider to film a short regional video as part of a joint campaign to promote Roma identity, culture, history, art, and heritage in the Western Balkan region. Apply by 4 March, 2022!
