PRFE organizes panel discussion as part of the ongoing census campaign in Hungary

On the occasion of the ongoing census in Hungary, Proud Roma Free Europe is organizing a panel discussion, exploring the history of the Hungarian Roma movement and self-organization through the lens of Roma identity, political activism, and Roma art and culture. The event will take place on October 7, 18:00 CET, at the Rácz Gyöngyi Community Center in Budapest. 

The discussion will focus on Roma pride – and proud Roma – the social role of Roma and the importance of participating in the national census.  The panel is comprised of distinguished Hungarian Roma professionals, scholars, and activists, namely:

  • Molnár István Gábor
  • Rácz Béla
  • Rézműves Melinda

18:00 – 18:15        “Proud Roma” movie screening with Hungarian subtitles

18:15 – 19:45         Panel discussion (moderated by Oláh Csaba and Vajda Melinda)

20:00 – 21:00       Live performance by Romano Glaszo (a small reception will be available for all attendees)
