It was today in 1971 that a young British man joined Roma activists from across Europe such as Slobodan Berberski and Mateo Maximoff in establishing the Romani flag, anthem and transnational identity for all Romani people. Grattan Puxon’s great love for the Romani people has seen him campaigning from his youth into his 80s, with a determination that has never weakened. He is a man to be much admired.
